Growing up one of our favourite skate spots was the City of Ottawa location in Kanata that was at 580 Terry Fox. There was a sketchy handrail there with a four set, and a mellow curb that we kept waxed. We got kicked out constantly, especially during business hours. One day a bylaw officer showed up. He whipped up on us fast and hopped out. We turned to run but he insisted he was chill and used to skateboard. He asked for my board which I hesitantly gave him. He took one run at the four set, kickflipped down and landed it. We were in shock as he walked back to us. He told us to skate for another 45 mins and then we needed to head out. Every once in a while, you meet a real one out in the wild.
